The Evolution: South Carolina Commission for Community Advancement and Engagement
The South Carolina Commission for Minority Affairs has been renamed as the South Carolina Commission for Community Advancement and Engagement. In May 2025, the agency’s statute was changed. As a result of this change, the Commission's mission has evolved. However, our commitment to working to assist all South Carolinians, regardless of their ethnic / racial background, remains steadfast.
As part of our expanded mission, the Commission is dedicated to strengthening rural and under-resourced communities through research, partnerships, small business development, and community-centered strategies. The Commission also examines and recommends policies aimed at ensuring the socioeconomic development of all communities across South Carolina.
The public can access our services and resources in the same way. However, you may notice more programs, resources, and outreach efforts as the agency evolves. Please subscribe to our network to stay up-to-date on the Commission as we transition.
