Board of Commissioners 2026-2027 Meeting Schedule
The South Carolina Commission for Community Advancement and Engagement Board of Commissioners will hold virtual quarterly meetings at 10 a.m. on the following dates:
- September 17, 2026
- December 10, 2026 (moved to the second Thursday due to the holidays)
- March 18, 2027
- June 17, 2027
- September 16, 2027
- December 9, 2027 (moved to the second Thursday due to the holidays)
(Board meetings begin at 10 a.m. on the third Thursday and are held virtually via Zoom unless otherwise noted.)
The meetings will be streamed live via the Commission’s YouTube page. Those who wish to participate in the public input portion of the meeting should email your comments to info@advance.sc.gov. Comments must be received no later than 12 noon on the day prior to the scheduled meeting. Please include the following information when submitting public comments:

Please join us at the Native American Studies Center for the W. Brent Burgin Lunch and Learn Lecture Series "Cherokee Family, Tribe, and History" on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Noon, with Chief Lamar Nelson and Vice Chief Dr. Jody Noe
This lecture will focus on three subjects with Chief Nelson describing his family history and the ECSIUT from the earliest beginnings through the present day. Dr Jody Noe will focus on the Cherokee people from precontact through the early years of colonialism.
